How the "discovery-stage" can save many $1,000s on a scoreboard build?

How the "discovery-stage" can save many $1,000s on a scoreboard build?

When buying a scoreboard from Solid, the discovery-stage is included in the pricing.
 - PLUS, Solid's pricing is FIXED (if $57,980 is printed on the quote , that is ALL your club pays us).
Sadly, other companies in the game do not have the same experience & confidence in their commercial building skills. Adding many clauses and grey areas in their pricing.

Since 2009 we have witnessed too many horror stories.
A typical example: A club buying a small scoreboard chooses "Acme Scoreboards" as their supplier because they were slightly cheaper. Then, after the fact, we hear that the ground-work (one of those little grey clauses) added over $10k (and considerable stress & time) to the project!
Let's face it, most club Presidents are not hard-arsed negotiators. These "hardworking, trusting, community volunteers" accept this extra drain on hard-earned club fundraising. Citing "what could we do? No one knew what was in the ground!"

How can your club receive a FIXED quote? Options...
  1. Buy from Solid :)        Click here for scoreboard discovery pricing
  2. Buy from another company (where you insist on a written fixed price)
  3. Buy the Discovery-Stage from Solid (or others)
    1. Then, present the results of this discovery to all companies bidding, and INSIST they provide written fixed pricing.
    2. If they refuse to FIX pricing... hmmm...
What is included in the Discovery-Stage?
  1. Underground services scans
    1. A professional marks all underground services in the scoreboard area

  2. A geotechnical investigation
    1. One bore to 3 metres (for larger scoreboards, 2 bores may be required at a deeper depth, P.O.A.)
    2. A "Site Investigation and Classification Report" by a licensed Geotech engineer.

Notes:
  1. Solid's Discovery-Stage (& fixed pricing) is only applicable in Victoria, Australia. Quoted pricing is for the Melbourne metro area. P.O.A for country regions.
    1. If you require a scoreboard in another state then we highly recommend seeking out an experienced reputable Outdoor LED screen  company from that state (Solid can always assist with software systems interstate & 7-7-7 support if required).
  2. Always assure that your scoreboard build is managed by a licenced commercial builder.
    1. Ask to see the building licence/s and a copy of the current insurances.
In other words, "who" to call if something goes wrong in the future.
    2. These are hard-earned "club funds". Please be wary.
