Honour Boards - What TV Should I buy?

Traditional timber honour boards are a great way to keep your club's history alive.
However, most newer club facilities have more windows AND less wall space.
The Digital Honour Board is a welcome solution.

What type of TV should I buy?

Any TV from the usual whitegoods shops will do the job.

All you need is 1 HDMI port to plug the Solid mini PC into.

What size TV should I buy?

Stand inside your venue and visualise where you want your Honour Board.
Then grab the tape measure and measure your maximum space available.

Then open your wallet and check your maximum.

Don't forget to also buy the wall bracket to suit.

What resolution do I need?

Your Solid Honour Board does NOT need a super resolution.

It runs as HD, or 1080p (which is 1920x1080 pixels).

This is the minimum resolution for the Solid Honour Board (so, your old computer monitor might NOT suit). 

If you buy a higher res TV, (ie. 2K, 4K, 8K) it will still work, but it is overkill price-wise unless you are also using this TV for other purposes.

When you initially connect a 4K TV to the Solid Honour board it might look like this...

 
You need to close the Honour Board app, then access the "Display Settings" on the PC and change the "resolution" to 1920x1080 & [apply].

Then reopen Honour Board.

It will then appear correctly...

Note: in the future the Solid Honour Board system may increase in res above HD.
But at the moment HD is performing at a suitable level for the purpose.
